Since sister city relations established in 1985, Jinan and Sacramento have maintained close ties in economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, forging deep friendship across the Pacific. As the Chinese New Year of the Horse arrives, Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, California State Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen, Sacramento Vice Mayor and Councilmember Eric Guerra, Sacramento County Supervisor Pat Hume, and Sacramento County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy sent their New Year greetings via following videos.

I’m California State Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen for District 10. Happy Chinese New Year! I had the opportunity to visit Jinan just last May-a city with 10 million people. It was amazing, absolutely an eye- opener to see how modern the city is, to see how well the city works together. But an opportunity for us to actually see the difference between what we have here in California, in the United States, and in Jinan. I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year!
