The Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government held a press conference on July 29 to brief on the audit work regarding the implementation of the 2024 provincial-level budget and other fiscal revenues and expenditures. Issues reflected in the previous year's audit report have been basically rectified. Through audit rectification, 14.315 billion yuan has been generated or saved in fiscal funds, and losses have been recovered, among other outcomes.
According to the audit findings, departments at all levels in the province have made coordinated efforts to stabilize growth, improve quality and efficiency, advance reforms, prevent risks, and benefit the people. They have accelerated the construction of a pilot zone for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development and built a Qilu model for rural revitalization, leading to a steady, sound, and quality-improving economic performance across the province.
In 2024, Shandong vigorously promoted large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in programs, completing 476.34 billion yuan in equipment renewal investment and driving automobile sales to exceed 100 billion yuan. Efforts were also intensified in infrastructure investment, with 325.2 billion yuan, 214 billion yuan, and 74.8 billion yuan invested in transportation, energy, and water conservancy respectively, yielding a significant investment-driven effect. Fiscal expenditures on people's wellbeing exceeded one trillion yuan for the first time, reaching 1036.8 billion yuan, further enhancing people's sense of gain, happiness, and security.
This year, audit authorities will further strengthen follow-up supervision, coordination, source governance, and long-term management. They will intensify efforts to supervise audit rectification, consolidate rectification responsibilities, promote both symptomatic and root-cause solutions, and better transform audit results into governance effectiveness and development momentum. Meanwhile, they will facilitate the use of rectification outcomes as an important reference for assessing, appointing, removing, rewarding, or punishing cadres subject to audit.
