The 2025 Fortune Global 500 list was released recently, featuring 5 Shandong-based companies, an increase of one compared to last year. The five listed companies are Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co., Ltd., Haier Smart Home Co., Ltd., Shandong High-Speed Group Co., Ltd. and Shandong Gold Group Co. Ltd.

Among the 5 listed companies, Shandong Energy ranked 82nd with an operating revenue of $120.426 billion for the fiscal year 2024. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the company has been ranked among the top 100 of the Fortune Global 500 since its joint restructuring. Weiqiao Pioneering Group ranked 166th with a revenue of $77.626 billion, up 9 places from last year, and has been on the list for 14 consecutive years. Haier Smart Home ranked 390th, up 17 places from last year, with a revenue of $39.746 billion. Shandong Hi-Speed Group ranked 401st, up 11 places from last year, with a revenue of $38.820 billion. Shandong Gold ranked 465th with a revenue of $34.763 billion, making its debut on the list.

"In 2024, facing the severe and complex economic situation and other challenges, Shandong Energy has launched a series of integrated measures, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement strategies, and institutional reforms to achieve improvements in the quality and efficiency of traditional industries and the development of emerging industries," said a person in charge of Shandong Energy Group.

It is reported that the total revenue of Fortune Global 500 companies this year is approximately $41.7 trillion, exceeding one-third of global GDP, and an increase of about 1.8% compared to last year. The threshold for this year's list (minimum sales revenue) has increased from $32.1 billion to $32.2 billion. The total net profit of all listed companies increased by approximately 0.4% year on year, to about $2.98 trillion. The total assets and total net assets of the 500 listed companies have reached the highest levels since the establishment of the Fortune Global 500 ranking. China has a total of 130 companies on the list, ranking second in the world in terms of the number of listed companies.
