A nationwide alliance was unveiled in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, on Aug 21 during the Nihao! China 2025 Asian Tour Operators' China Trip to promote reciprocal tourist exchanges.

The alliance consists of 15 cities, including Jinan, capital of Shandong, Beijing, Dalian, Suzhou, Huangshan, and Ningbo.

This initiative is part of Jinan's efforts to strengthen its inbound tourism and showcase itself as a high-quality destination for international visitors.

The Jinan stop of the event took place on Aug 14 to 15. A promotional event was hosted in Mingshui Ancient Town, while Asian tour operators explored Jinan landmarks like Baotu Spring, Baihuazhou Historical and Cultural Block, Chaoran Tower and Shandong Museum and savored the innovative Spring Water Banquet for an immersive cultural and culinary experience.

To support inbound tourism, Jinan has introduced a series of measures to enhance convenience and the overall visitor experience. A smart traveler inspection system was launched for one-stop entry processing and enhanced airport services, including multilingual support, international card withdrawals, foreign currency self-exchange, and attraction reservations.

The city has also improved payment convenience for visitors through widespread foreign card point-of-sale (POS) machines and dedicated currency exchange points, upgraded transport with an airport express line, and launched themed cultural and tourism activities to enrich the inbound travel experience.
