Construction of the first phase of the Jinan Industrial Mother Machines Industrial Park began on March 31 in the Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation, marking the next step in the city's high-end equipment manufacturing sector. Industrial mother machines are widely regarded as the machines that manufacture other machines.

Spanning about 52.2 hectares, the project is led by JIER Machine-tool Group (JIER) and is designed as a high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing base. The park will focus on four major product systems: industrial automation, computer numerical control products, general-purpose presses, and high-performance machine tool components.

By attracting both upstream and downstream enterprises, the park aims to build a collaborative industrial ecosystem and further solidify Jinan's role in advanced equipment manufacturing.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ren Liwei, chairman of JIER, said the project is meant to serve as a demonstration base for green and low-carbon development, as well as a hub for technological innovation, high-end equipment clustering, and digital transformation.
